|Allas Sea Pool|
Helsinki in the summer time, could there be anything more wonderful? Here are my top tips to spending summer in this beautiful maritime city:
1. Allas Sea Pool
Allas Sea Pool is a pool and restaurant complex right next to the main Market Square in downtown Helsinki right next to SkyWheel Helsinki. By a all-day pass from the counter and enjoy up to 10 hours of fun by the Sea. You can both enjoy of the heated sweet water pool and cool-off at the sea water pool (at the actual sea temperature!). The restaurants offer both beverages and food so take with you something to pass the whole day. There is also a stage with concerts on some evenings. Some concerts have an extra charge. A small minus is the not so great number of sunbathing loungers and the somewhat confusing unisex dressing room system.
If you would like to spend a longer while at the sea, the perfect island for you is the Isosaari island which was opened to the public this summer. The boat to the island leaves from the Vallisaari dock at the Market Square and the voyage takes about 40 minutes depending on the winds. Situated at the open sea, Isosaari lives up to its name "large island" and features everything from cultural history as well as peaceful nooks to while away the day with a good book and picnic. The officers' mess turned into a restaurant serves beverages and food. You can also visit the island with your own boat by docking into the visitors' dock.

5. Arabianranta Park and Vanhankaupunginkoski Rapids
If you have already visited the island of Helsinki, you can take a stroll at the Arabianranta Park all the way to the Vanhankaupunginkoski Rapids. While enjoying the scenery at the rapids, you can enjoy food or beverages at the Koskenranta restaurant.
